As a literature enthusiast, Marc Vanberg's career first led him to teaching. Working as a teacher of ancient languages and classics, Marc saw his passion for art catch up with him. After graduating in bookbinding from Arts et Métiers de Liège, Marc Vanberg began to combine his teaching profession with a complementary craft activity.
His love of books, paper and wood pushed him to start creating decorative objects to which artistic creations were added.
“Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing more to take away.”
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
His paintings are characterized by a search for simplicity and a certain minimalism, with Man holding a fundamental position. In each of his paintings, the viewer will have the opportunity to question his place in the world and in the universe.
Many of his works appear like graphic haikus and tend to provoke emotion using a minimum of means while playing on the combination of materials and textures.
The relief of his creations brings them a third dimension.
In his paintings, perspective invites the viewer to enter the painting, causing a powerful and immersive experience.
