Photography was not Alexandra Daoust's first choice. She first studied to become a social worker or psychologist before discovering the world of photography thanks to the big names in the profession.
She threw herself into adventure and qualified as a photographer. At the time, only film photography was taught, so she learned digital photography on her own.
His photographic style has evolved over the years, moving from black and white portraiture to street photography, to then develop his purely artistic side and tend towards abstract, hyper-colorful art.
“If I could tell a story with words, I wouldn’t carry around a camera”
Lewis Hine
She is eternally amazed by what nature offers us, the trees, the landscapes, the flowers and especially the colors and their benefits on the soul and the body.
She is also fascinated by Japan and by impressionist painters.
Alexandra likes to use architecture to experiment, create, invent new forms and gives free rein to her imagination.
You will find a little concentrate of all this in his photographs.
She works only with a smartphone and mainly uses the multiple exposure technique.

Pop ARTbre
“I present to you my Pop Artbre series
Pop Artbre is an artistic experience merging bright, saturated colors with the beauty of nature's trees.
The bright, vibrant colors used in my photos evoke energy (red), vitality (orange), hope (green), serenity (blue), joy (yellow), tenderness (pink).
Where each shade and hue plays a role in the overall composition.
At the same time, trees, symbols of nature and life, provide an organic dimension. The contrast between the trees and the colors creates a dialogue between artifice and authenticity. »
“I play with certain codes of Pop Art by transposing them to nature in order to encourage reflection on consumerism and how mass culture shapes our individual and collective identity.
We consume it and consume nature like Kleenex that we throw in the trash.
We are mistreating our natural environment, which is essential to the survival of all species on Earth. »
Variable geometry
“I was inspired by the adage: “In life, you must avoid 3 geometric figures: vicious circles, love triangles and minds that are too square.”
In this photographic series, we explore a whole new universe of geometric figures, taken from modern architecture, playing on these wise tips and transforming these warnings into an innovative and surprising visual adventure.
Variable Geometry invites the viewer to reflect on the notion of geometry in our daily lives: where we used to get stuck in vicious circles, we discover perfect circles in concrete and steel.
Rather than getting bogged down in love triangles generating complications, she shows us triangles of shapes and colors witnessing a new harmony and instead of remaining imprisoned in minds that are too square, variable geometry invites us to rebellion, to abandon our prejudices and break the codes. »
“This artistic series defies the rules, while celebrating the unexpected beauty of contemporary architecture, proving that sometimes it is in our best interest to push the boundaries of conventional thinking.
Architectural geometry then becomes a metaphor for the bold exploration of life itself.
These shots are a visual plea for flexibility, creativity and exploration. Buildings become canvases, lines become visual poems and angles intertwine to tell a unique story. »
